Bike Trails

Here are some popular places to ride your bike on Cape Cod:

 

1.    Cape Cod Rail Trail: The Cape Cod Rail Trail is one of the most well-known and beloved bike paths on the Cape. Stretching approximately 22 miles from Dennis to Wellfleet, this paved trail follows the former railway and passes through various towns, woodlands, and cranberry bogs. It's perfect for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.

2.    Shining Sea Bikeway (Falmouth): The Shining Sea Bikeway is a picturesque 11-mile trail that winds along the coast from Falmouth to Woods Hole. Enjoy stunning ocean views, salt marshes, and coastal landscapes as you cycle this scenic route.

3.    Province Lands Bike Trail (Provincetown): This trail, located within the Cape Cod National Seashore, offers a unique biking experience through the dunes and forests of Provincetown. It's a bit more challenging compared to some other paths, but the breathtaking scenery makes it worth the effort.

4.    Nauset Marsh Trail (Eastham): Part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, the Nauset Marsh Trail offers a peaceful ride along a 1.6-mile loop. You'll encounter salt marshes, wildlife, and beautiful views of Nauset Marsh and Coast Guard Beach.

5.    Cape Cod Canal Bikeway (Bourne/Sandwich): The Cape Cod Canal Bikeway follows the scenic Cape Cod Canal, offering 7 miles of paved paths for biking. Enjoy views of passing boats and the iconic Bourne and Sagamore bridges.

6.    Nickerson State Park (Brewster): Nickerson State Park has a network of bike-friendly paved and unpaved trails that wind through the park's forests and around its kettle ponds. It's a fantastic place for mountain biking and exploring nature.

7.    Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket: While not technically on Cape Cod, nearby islands like Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket are accessible by ferry and offer excellent biking opportunities. Both islands have bike paths that lead to beautiful beaches, charming towns, and scenic spots.
